Gothic Graffiti™ "The Heart Has Reasons" T-shirt
Gothic Graffiti™ "The Heart Has Reasons" T-shirt.Reads: "The heart has it's reasons which reason knows not".
A quote by 17th century French philosopher and polymath Blaise Pascal in regard to religion and spirituality. Belief, he says, can not be justified rationally, because it is absurd. Pascal believed the "heart" to be the first truth, as it is intuition, instinct, sensitivity, and sentiment. The "heart" being that "je ne sais quoi"; the little something that we can't put our finger on. "Heart" not meaning just the little blood pump inside of our bodies, but that feeling we get when we just know, feel or understand. Reason only infers and concludes from first principles, that which is provided directly by the heart, which he believed was the superior mind.
The shirt design was created by esoteric artist Arijah Ankh Khalid-Zyn, and includes symbolisms in regard to Pascal such as the butterfly theorem, probability theorem and Pascal's triangle, the calculator, projective geometry, and the unicursal hexagram as is discussed in his 1639 "hexagrammum mysticum theorem".
This theorem is also represented in Aleister Crowley's Thelema. The symbol itself is the equivalent of the ancient Egyptian Ankh, and the Rosicrucian's Rose Cross; which represents the interwoven microcosmic and macrocosmic forces in nature.
